Approaches and
Modalities

My therapeutic approach is grounded in liberatory values and anti-oppressive psychotherapy. What that means for me is that I simultaneously envision a future where each person I engage with will be celebrated, free, and aligned with their most authentic self. And I also name the truths of systemic oppression, white supremacy, and anti-Black racism for the real harm they inflict on each person. For me, it is a balancing act of addressing the power dynamics that exist in therapy and holding one another accountable in instances of harm while working together to move towards that vision of liberation for us both.

Land Acknowledgement

My practice is informed by my relationship to my ancestral lands known and unknown, where I live and work in the territories of the Huron-Wendat, Haudenausaunee, and Anishnaabe, and the treaty territories of the Mississaugas and Chippewa peoples. I am grateful for the knowledge and teachings shared with me. I am committed to reconciliation with those in my community and beyond in solidarity with all Indigenous peoples.
